Aspire’s Kindy Program at Baldivis

Aspire’s Kindy Program is an integral part of our educational offering. At our newly opened Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten Baldivis, the Kindy rooms have been off to a wonderful start. Learn about what makes Aspire’s Kindergarten different, and why two years of Kindy is better than one!  

Why are two years of Kindy better than one?

Research has been plentiful into the benefits of enrolling children into two years of early-learning-centre-based Kindergarten Programs. 

• Neuroscience shows that early brain development is critical in shaping the learning, development, health and wellbeing of children. This early brain development impacts their future life opportunities.

As part of its ‘Two Years are Better than One’ study, Australia’s Mitchell Institute concluded that 15 hours per week is the optimal number of hours in an early childhood education program. This amount of time has a positive impact on children’s learning and development. It also found that two years of Kindy benefit disadvantaged children further. A UNICEF report found that these outcomes were “optimised when children started before age four.”

The reason why this amount of time is optimal is because it gives children an ample time to develop friendships, take risks and make neural connections with new information.

 The best outcomes for children come about through combining sustained positive parenting with high-quality early childhood education.

Baldivis Kindy Program

Aspire Baldivis offers three and four-year-old Kindy programs at our Smirk Road centre. Our Kindy program is play-based, allowing children to learn and discover through engaging and fun activities. Play-based learning allows children to interact with people and different objects within different environments. Our teaching team assesses the interests of the children to tailor activities based on what they are interested in.

Recently, the Kindy kids trialled a fun and engaging dance program. The Jungle Body brought their energetic moves and fun music to the kindy rooms. The Jungle Body is all about promoting healthy living through fun music and movement, and the belief that anyone can dance! The kids wouldn’t stop talking about it and kept dancing the rest of the day.          

Aspire Baldivis’ Kindy program has also recently locked in a Bush Kinder program for their children. Bush Kindy operates at many Aspire centres in Victoria, so we are happy to see it begin at our first WA centre.

Bush Kindy brings the classroom outside, giving children an opportunity to learn and play in nature. Topics that are often taught in Bush Kindy programs include First Nations’ connection to the land, learning about native fauna and flora, and sustainability and the environment.     

Kindergarten at Aspire

Aspire’s Kindergarten Programs are designed to guide children’s learning and development through play-based learning methods. These programs set your child up for success at primary school and beyond, by focusing on numeracy and literacy skills, as well as problem solving and learning about the world around them.

Our Kickstart to Kindy Program offers kindergarten education for 3-year-old children. Our Kindy Program is designed by a collaborative team of kindergarten and local primary school teachers. Kickstart to Kinder provides opportunities to learn through play in a safe and supportive environment.

Aspire’s 4-year-old Kindergarten program, Step into Prep, continues to support the development of your child’s social and emotional intelligence in a safe and secure environment. Our program builds on the foundation they have formed through their Aspire journey. This ensures a successful transition into primary school and beyond!
