We work in close collaboration with families and ensure that any personal needs and requests are accommodated. Our teachers possess comprehensive knowledge of both the Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, which offers every child the opportunity to succeed.

Childcare Centre Highlights

We offer exciting incursion programs at Aspire Thornhill Park that provide new experiences for the children and help them develop new interests and skills. These cover sport, music, art and drama, and are a highlight for the children at Aspire.

The centre also offers one-off incursion programs throughout the term. Some recent standouts include:

  • Hey Dee Ho and Sports Tots
  • Giant Bubble incursion
  • Mindful Monkeys mental health incursion
  • Harolds Body Boundaries

Aspire childcare centres frequently run engaging and exciting excursions throughout the year. This differs from centre to centre, but may include excursions such as Bush Kinder, farm visits, walking to a local park or to local primary schools. These excursions further bolster the learning of students in every age group, as they align with Aspire's curriculum and the interests of the children.

Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten centres provide nutritious daily meals to each child. Meals adhere to the Nutrition Australia Dietary Guidelines, ensuring that each child, regardless of dietary requirements, receives delicious meals each day. Aspire's amazing chefs also love to create special moments for our children and staff, making birthday cakes or delicious spreads of food to celebrate special occasions.

Childcare Centre Facilities

Aspire Thornhill Park’s service is a state-of-the-art childcare facility with beautiful indoor and outdoor environments for children to learn and grow in. The rooms open into the vast playground spaces, bringing the outside in and opening opportunities for outdoor lessons. With eight spacious rooms to scaffold little learners, each room is filled with toys, educational equipment, art supplies and more to allow every child to bloom.

Our Piazza serves as a central gathering place where children come together to enjoy their meals and participate in our Aspire wellbeing program, which includes exciting initiatives like our sustainability program, edible gardens, and children's cooking classes. This space fosters a strong sense of community, as children from different age groups share in the learning experiences during these important times.

Beautiful gardens and a life-size fire truck is featured for children to climb and let their imagination run free. An expansive sand pit and rock play area are great for the adventurous at heart. The outdoor zones for each age group are tailored to ensure that each child has the opportunity to explore and play in a natural setting.

Early Education Programs

Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten operates in a long daycare setting and has four main education programs, tailored to each stage of early development. At Aspire, our quality education programs are designed to guide children’s learning and development by encouraging them to explore, discover and connect with others.

Our Baby Steps Nursery Program provides a nurturing environment, with daily activities and intentional teaching opportunities to support your child to reach developmental milestones. Our play-based learning approach allows children to learn through sensory play, as well as build a foundation for future learning.

The Little Learners Toddler Program is designed to create an engaging environment that supports your toddler’s social and cognitive development. We provide a fun, play-based learning approach that engages their young and active minds within a safe and stimulating environment.

Aspire’s Kickstart to Kinder program is specially designed for three-year-olds, offering a warm and engaging introduction to their kindergarten journey. Created in collaboration with kindergarten and local primary school teachers, the program supports each child’s social, emotional and early literacy development.

With a balance of structured and play-based learning, children are encouraged to explore their interests, build confidence and develop independence. This approach helps lay the foundation for a smooth transition into four-year-old kindergarten and a lifelong love of learning.

Aspire’s Step into Prep program is designed for four-year-olds to confidently prepare for primary school in a supportive and stimulating environment. Building on skills developed in earlier years, the program focuses on independence, communication, and critical thinking.

The program combines hands-on activities with intentional learning experiences designed to nurture curiosity and resilience. Our educators work closely with each child, tailoring support to their strengths and interests. This thoughtful approach helps children feel confident and ready to embrace the challenges and excitement of primary school.

The Victorian Government offers funding to provide families with up to 15 hours of free kindergarten a week, in addition to the Childcare Subsidy. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of the centre’s long daycare kindergarten program.

As of 2025, families can save up to $2,101 a year for eligible children aged three years old and above in eligible long daycares. This is in addition to the Child Care Subsidy. Use our CCS Calculator to estimate your child care subsidy & out-of-pocket costs.

The Free Kinder program is designed to ensure all children have access to the benefits of early learning and give them a strong foundation for a successful school experience.

Centre Manager

Teagan Mumford

Hi, I’m Teagan Mumford, the Centre Manager at Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten Thornhill Park.

I’ve worked in early childhood education for over 10 years, and during that time, I’ve had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles, including Educator, Lead Educator, Assistant Centre Manager, WHS Officer, and Centre Manager. Each role has helped shape the educator and leader I am today.

I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and am incredibly passionate about being part of such an important and exciting stage in a child’s life. Being involved in the first five years of a child’s learning journey is something I hold very close to my heart. It’s truly a privilege to play a role in their growth and development.

What I love most about working at Aspire is the support and guidance I receive, which empowers me to reach my full potential while doing what I love every day. Of all Aspire’s values, Empowering Excellence resonates with me the most. I take pride in planning and implementing strategies that help our centre grow and thrive for the benefit of our children, families, and educators.

My leadership approach centres around building strong, collaborative partnerships with children, families, and my team. Together, we work to create an inclusive, supportive community.

I grew up in Melbourne’s Southeast, and now working in the West has allowed me to engage with diverse families across the city, enriching my perspective and practice.

Head of Curriculum

Lovepreet Kaur

My name is Lovepreet Kaur, and I am the Head of Curriculum here at Thornhill Park.

The thing I love most about working at Aspire is the strong sense of community and belonging. I feel proud to be part of a team that truly values relationships and works together to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for all the children.

I began my career as a passionate Kindergarten Teacher, driven by a deep love for working with young children and supporting their development through using different teaching styles and methods. Over the years, I’ve held more responsibilities and mentoring opportunities, which led me to take on my current Head of Curriculum role.

Aspire’s value of Building Trust resonates with me most, as I believe building trust is the foundation of early childhood. Trust allows children to feel safe and confident, families to feel heard and supported, and educators to work collaboratively.

My leadership style is supportive and reflective. I lead by modelling best practices and creating safe spaces for educators to share, learn and grow. I also prioritise building trusting partnerships with families, recognising them as their children’s first teachers. I aim to foster an environment that is inclusive, consistent and responsive to children’s needs.

Something I am passionate about is creating engaging, inviting and open-ended environments that spark curiosity and wonder in children.

I speak English, Hindi and Punjabi, which helps me connect with many families in our community. Coming from a multicultural background, I enjoy celebrating different cultures within our centre community.

My child is in Room 8 and educators are amazing. Everyday she is coming home and telling lot of things that she learnt through out the day. Educators are very thorough in providing me the information regarding how her day went. They are very friendly and I feel very comfortable when talking to them regarding her routine or any concerns and they do listen to it and always try to come up with the solution. I am very glad that she is going to Aspire and have such a good educators.
