Childcare Centre Highlights

Aspire Baldivis' long daycare provides many fun experiences to children in each of its learning hubs. One highlight is the wide range of weekly and monthly incursions the childcare centre runs.

Jazzie Shazziesis an exhilarating, high-energy, interactive class catered for 1-5-year-olds. Classes are bursting with energy, featuring many props, beloved children's tunes, and dynamic activities. The children enjoy a lively experience of singing, dancing and moving to music.

This monthly incursion showcases the rich First Nations history of the land on which Aspire Baldivis sits. Local Indigenous community member Cyril visits our centre to educate the children on native animals and plants, and also the important cultures of his people. Connecting to the land on which we play, learn and grow is extremely important, and is a focus of our centre.

Aspire childcare centres frequently run engaging and exciting excursions throughout the year. This differs from centre to centre, but may include excursions such as Bush Kinder, farm visits, walking to a local park or to local primary schools. These excursions further bolster the learning of students in every age group, as they align with Aspire's curriculum and the interests of the children.

At Aspire Baldivis, our in-centre chef prepares fresh and nutritious meals every day, guided by the Australian Dietary Guidelines. Our approach to food focuses on variety, balance, and mindful eating to support children’s healthy growth and development.

We focus on variety, balance and whole foods with each meal containing vegetables, fruit, whole grains, lean proteins and dairy. Our chefs also make mealtimes special, whether it's baking a birthday cake or preparing a festive spread to celebrate an occasion. Food is a meaningful and joyful part of our community.

Childcare Centre Facilities

The Baldivis childcare centre boasts a modern, catering-style kitchen with generous food storage space and plenty of room for our chefs to make their delicious meals! As well as that, the daycare centre has an outside piazza space where children can share meals, play and take part in a range of activities. The outdoor space, shielded from the elements, is also the perfect space for cooking classes!

Aspire Baldivis contains five spacious rooms, specifically built for children at every stage of their early learning journey. These childcare and kindergarten rooms are filled with high-quality educational toys and equipment, books, crafts and imaginative play experiences. It’s no wonder the children find something new to do every day!

Another childcare centre highlight is the fantastic outdoor play areas! With both a toddler/nursery and kinder play spaces, there are plenty of fun things to do outdoors. The centrepiece is a large wooden playground with places to climb, play and slide.

Baldivis Early Education Programs

Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten operates in a long daycare setting and has four main education programs, tailored to each stage of early development. At Aspire, our quality education programs are designed to guide children’s learning and development by encouraging them to explore, discover and connect with others.

Our Baby Steps Nursery Program provides a nurturing environment, with daily activities and intentional teaching opportunities to support your child in reaching developmental milestones. Our play-based learning approach allows children to learn through sensory play, as well as build a foundation for future learning.

The Little Learners Toddler Program is designed to create an engaging environment that supports your toddler’s social and cognitive development. We provide a fun, play-based learning approach that engages their young and active minds within a safe and stimulating environment.

Aspire’s pre-kindy program is specially designed for three-year-olds, offering a warm and engaging introduction to their kindergarten journey. Created in collaboration with kindergarten and local primary school teachers, the program supports each child’s social, emotional and early literacy development.

With a balance of structured and play-based learning, children are encouraged to explore their interests, build confidence and develop independence. This approach helps lay the foundation for a smooth transition into four-year-old kindy and a lifelong love of learning.

Aspire’s kindy program is designed for four-year-olds to confidently prepare for primary school in a supportive and stimulating environment. Building on skills developed in earlier years, the program focuses on independence, communication, and critical thinking.

The program combines hands-on activities with intentional learning experiences designed to nurture curiosity and resilience. Our educators work closely with each child, tailoring support to their strengths and interests. This thoughtful approach helps children feel confident and ready to embrace the challenges and excitement of primary school.

Centre Manager

Edina Tuirirangi

Hello, my name is Edina and I’m the Centre Manager at Aspire Baldivis. With over 25 years of experience in the early childhood education and care sector, I’m deeply passionate about nurturing strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and educators. One of my favourite parts of working at Aspire is the organisation’s commitment to high-quality education and the meaningful connections we build with our community.

My career began in New Zealand before I moved to Australia in 2012, first working in Kalgoorlie and then settling in Perth in 2014. Over the years, I’ve held various roles, including teacher, educational leader, centre manager, and even state operations manager. While I’ve enjoyed each step of the journey, I’ve recently chosen to return to my true passion, leading at the centre level while also prioritising more time with my family.

I believe in creating a warm, encouraging environment where everyone, children and educators alike, can grow, feel supported, and reach their full potential. My leadership style centres around collaboration, shared goals, and mutual respect. I love seeing the spark of an “Aha!” moment in a child or witnessing an educator develop a new skill. Those are the moments that make this work so rewarding.

Outside of work, I actively support cancer awareness initiatives, including the HBF Breast Cancer Run and Daffodil Chef Dinner, and am involved with the WA Breast Cancer Support Group.
