July commemorates Aspire Tarneit Square’s first birthday! It has been an amazing year of exciting incursions and fun events. Let’s take a look back at some of our favourite memories at the centre.
Before the centre opened, Aspire threw a massive Open Day event for the Tarneit community. There was a huge turnout of guests, and many fun activities for them to take part in. One of the highlights was the visit from Mario and Princess Peach! The kids loved playing games and dancing with them. Families didn’t hesitate to take a photo with these video game superstars! There was also an Australian animal display, lucky dip prizes, and fun sports activities. It was a huge success overall and was the perfect way to introduce the centre to the community.
Aspire Tarneit Square has hosted numerous exciting incursions at the centre over the past year of operation. One of the stand-out incursions was the Henny Penny egg hatching experience earlier this year. The children were delighted to watch the eggs incubate and eventually hatch into fifteen cute, fuzzy chicks! A few of the chicks found a home at the centre and have hung around long after the two-week-long hatching experience.
Another incursion that the children have loved has been visits from Healthy Harold from Life Education Australia. Covering important topics such as personal hygiene, healthy eating, and body safety, Healthy Harold educates children at their level. The children enjoyed singing and playing games with Harold and finish each session off with a special certificate.
The biggest event in the Aspire Tarneit Square Calendar so far was the Community Carnival Event! The community rallied around the centre and came out to support the event. One of the highlights was the complimentary ice cream voucher from neighbouring Gelateria On The Docks, which was a huge hit among attendees. Other fun activities included pony rides, popcorn and fairy floss machines, face painting and balloon sculptures. It was a fantastic day, with team members, centre families and community members alike having a wonderful time.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the centre’s success in its first year of operation. It has been amazing to see the centre grow from the five children enrolled on the very first day of opening to the over 100 children that call the centre home. We can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
