Wyndham City Children’s Week Picnic

This week we celebrate Children’s Week, a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements, and rights of children. The theme for Children's Week 2023, based on UNCRC Article 31 is "Children have the right to relax, play and to take part in activities they enjoy". It recognises the right of children to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.

At Aspire, we provide many different opportunities for our children to participate and play throughout their time in care with us.

Children’s Week Picnic Event

On Sunday 22nd of October, we joined the community and attended Wyndham City Children's Week Picnic Event at Werribee Park. This much-loved free Wyndham City event offered music, games, sports, market stalls, food trucks and more for families to enjoy.

Our Truganina, Tarneit North and Riverwalk Aspire centres, who are part of Wyndham City Council, were thrilled to partake with a range of activities at our Aspire marquee on the day.

We ran activities including loose parts, sensory play and storytelling, with an exciting appearance from Olaf thanks to our Riverwalk centre manager Soledad! Our Aspire staff had a great time meeting the community and interacting with children through our different activities, as well as gaining knowledge from each other as well.

If you want to learn more about some of these activities we offer in our Aspire curriculum, visit our curriculum page or contact us today.

All our Aspire centres will be participating in a range of activities and events this week to celebrate Children’s Week so keep an eye out!
