World Space Week at Aspire Bella Estate

World Space Week is an international celebration of science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition. In early education settings, it is a wonderful opportunity to inspire curiosity about space and science in young learners. By incorporating fun and educational activities, educators can create a memorable experience that fosters a love for science and exploration.

At Aspire Early Education Bella Estate, they implemented many exciting space activities for the children in each of their rooms. Discover more about some of the fun the children had celebrating World Space Week this month!

Space Fun in the Toddler Rooms

In Bella Estate’s Toddler 2 room, the children participated in a planet painting activity, in which they painted our solar system planets. They also created our Solar system where children used different balloons and colours to do this activity.

The children also enjoyed an activity called "Let's catch the shooting star". The team setup galaxy in a tuff tray and provided the children tongs to catch the shooting stars. Tong activities are a wonderful way to develop the children’s fine motor skills, coordination, and concentration.

Watch the video below of some of these exciting experiences!

In the Toddler 1 room, the educators also set up a solar system painting activity for the children using some marbles and a tray. Children were shown to tilt the tray to create an amazing pattern. They were very amazed with the end result, with the marble swirling around the tray. This activity helped the children develop their creativity, vocabulary, imagination and knowledge about outer space.

The Toddler 3 children had an absolute blast celebrating World Space Week! They participated in a thrilling out-of-this-world adventure, immersing themselves in a stunning space experience. Using eco-friendly materials like Woolworths shopping bags, recycled delivery boxes, and used paper, they crafted a truly unique galaxy and space environment. The children's joy knew no bounds as they eagerly participated in the activities. These engaging experiences allowed them to explore the planets, expand their language and vocabulary, fuel their imagination, unleash their creativity, enhance their social skills, and boost their confidence.

Space Fun in the Kinder Rooms

During Space Week, the kinder children engaged in a fun planet spelling activity using magnetic letters. This hands-on approach not only helped them recognise letters but also enhanced their literacy skills and vocabulary. By spelling out names of planets, they expanded their knowledge about space in an interactive way, making learning both enjoyable and educational. Check out some of the photos below!

Space Set ups in the Nursery

And of course, the Nursery children also celebrated space week and had an exciting time exploring their space corner, which was beautifully decorated with their own artwork, including painted planets and a crafted moon. They were captivated by the hanging planets, reaching up to touch them, and delighted in the twinkling stars and glowing lights that added to the magical atmosphere.
