We’re currently inviting families in the community to take part in a special community project called Wollert's Spoon Village! This is a fun project where children and families can design their own spoon that reflects them, their personality, style and favourite things to do.
These beautifully crafted spoons will then be displayed throughout the external gardens of our brand-new Aspire Arramont centre and existing Aspire Wollert centre. This will create a vibrant and meaningful outdoor installation for everyone to enjoy, and a great representation of every child’s place in the community.
If you'd like to get involved, simply pick up a spoon to decorate at one of the below pick up locations:
When decorated, you can drop them back at one of these locations as well. They will then be displayed in our wonderful Spoon Villages at our Aspire centres.
To launch our Spoon Village, we had a fun activation at the Aurora Village shopping centre in Wollert on Wednesday 10th of July. Staff from our Aspire Wollert and Arramont team came together and set up a stall to run the activation. They came prepped with wooden spoons and lots of different materials for families to create their own spoons with. It was wonderful connecting with families in the community, and was such a great school holiday activity for the children. The Aspire team loved seeing everyone stop by to create their unique spoon for our Spoon Village.
If you took some spoons home to decorate and would like to add them to our village, you are welcome to drop them off at either our Arramont Centre or Wollert Centre.
If you visited our Spoon Village Activation or have picked up a spoon at one of our pick-up locations, we'd love to see a photo and hear the meaning behind your spoon creation. Submit your wonderful photos and how it represents you at the link here: Aspire Wollert's Spoon Village Project.
We've love to collect these spoon photos and stories and create a book that we can showcase at our centres. We will also add these stories to our Aspire curriculum to teach the children about the Wollert Community and what makes up a strong community. As part of their curriculum, the children will also help maintain the spoon gardens, creating an enriching and engaging learning experience for them.
We hope this will be a nice reflection of the community, and become a symbol of connection, belonging, and shared purpose.
