Last Saturday the Deanside community rallied together to have fun at the Aspire Deanside Village open day event! Despite the wild and windy weather, the community had a day full of fun activities and experiences. Read on to see how the event went.
There were heaps of activities on offer at the Deanside Village open day, for children (and adults) of all ages.
We had three talented face painting artists that brought each child’s face painting ideas to life. There were unicorns, tigers, fairies and even a few Paw Patrol characters running around. It was so lovely to see the smiling faces of the children as they had their faces painted. Even a few parents had their faces painted!
Even scaly, cuddly and feathery animals from Aussie Wildlife Displays came along to say hi! Guests had the opportunity to hold some non-venomous snakes, talk to a pink cockatoo and even pat fan-favourite Ellie the wombat. The team from Aussie Wildlife Displays were very knowledgeable about the animals and shared many fun tidbits.
People had a blast taking silly photos at the photobooth! There were plenty of props, as well as fun costumes, that featured in the photos. We even caught some of the staff taking a group photo together! The memories, and the photos that were taken are sure to last a long time.
Our friends at Little Sports Heroes were bringing the energy at the open day. They ran many fun sports activities like mini basketball hoops and a throwing target activity. Giving children the opportunity to hone their sporting skills, as well as giving something for the older children to do, makes them a standout at our events!
Due to the weather being a bit yucky, our coffee and hot drinks van was much needed! Serving up top-notch hot drinks and snacks, they were a hit with the guests. The team even made up a stack of toasted breakfast rolls, which were absolutely delicious. We are grateful for the team at Wanderlust Coffee Van for coming along to our event!
The main event of the open day, and the part everyone was waiting for, was the arrival of our friends from Paw Patrol! Chase, Marshall and their special friend and assistant Kaylah came and entertained their fans. There was a lot of dancing, twirling, laughing and fun! We danced to some favourite songs like “Baby Shark” and “The Floor is Lava”!
Families had the opportunity to grab a photo with the pair, with many of the children beyond excited to meet their heroes. Even some of the parents were excited to meet Marshall and Chase. The Paw Patrol buddies were just as excited to meet their new friends at the Deanside Village open day event.
Overall it was a fantastic day, and we are so thankful to everyone who came along. As we await the centre’s official opening date, tours are open for those who haven’t been able to visit the centre yet. If you’d like to visit, please call 1800 978 429, or click the button below to book a tour time.
