To celebrate Early Learning Matters week, Aspire Tarneit North held various activities that celebrated our culture and community.
Early Learning Matters Week is an important week in our curriculum and aims to recognise and raise the profile of early childhood education and care in children’s development and wellbeing in Australia. This year’s theme ‘learning through connection’, asks us to consider and share the ways that ‘connection’ supports children’s learning.
To start off Early Learning Matters Week at Tarneit, we were honored to have Collin who preformed the song of our custodians of the land, past present and future. On the second day, we had a cultural dress day, where the children and our educators dressed up in cultural dresses to celebrate our different cultural backgrounds and heritage.
We then held a morning tea and smoking ceremony for members of their community to end Early Learning Matters Week. At Tarneit, we are proud to have such a strong involvement with our local community and were thrilled to have some of our community members attend this event.
Thank you to Tarneit North Primary School, Wyndham City Council, Myfone repairs Keilor Downs and Kitchen Favorite for attending. It was a great morning with you all, and we look forward to more community events in the future.
