Picnic for Prems has officially wrapped up! The months of April and May have been about raising awareness and donating money to Life’s Little Treasures Foundation (LTTF) through their Picnic for Prems campaign. This campaign has been a great way to get Aspire’s centres involved with our charity partner. Centres all around Victoria took part in the Picnic for Prems, as well as the head office. Check out some of the great times they had below!
Some of the Aspire team joined the wider Life’s Little Treasures community as they held their official Picnic for Prems event. Held at Landcox Park in Brighton, the weather kept quite well for a mid-April afternoon picnic. We had a lovely time talking to some of the families that have been supported by LLTF and hearing their stories. The impact that LLTF has had on these families cannot be understated.
As all picnics should, there was plenty of incredible food on offer. From brownies, fruit platters, and chips and dip, everyone’s taste was accounted for. We certainly left with full bellies!
The kids had fun too, with games, face painting, and kicking the footy about. A highlight was the treasure hunt, searching for plastic Easter eggs with prizes inside!
We heard from a few people close to the campaign, including Life’s Little Treasures CEO Felicia Welstead. She shared about how Picnic for Prems came to be, and the impact this campaign will have on families around Australia. Afterwards, she comemorated each of the incredible families and supporters who had taken the time to join the Picnic for Prems campaign.
Aspire Bella Estate held a few picnics for the Picnic for Prems cause. The Toddler 3 Children had an adorable teddy bear picnic with their educators to learn about what LLTF does. Children in Toddler 3 rolled out their picnic blankets together at the local park with their favourite teddy bear. With this campaign, centres can light up the lives of families experiencing the journey of having a premature or sick baby. This way centres can show the families that they are not alone.
The centre also held an event for the wider Aspire Bella Estate community. They had a gorgeous set up! Families that came along shared some of their lived experiences with having a sick or premature baby and shed some light on the importance of LTTF. Their presence and shared experiences made a meaningful impact.
Clyde North also held a lovely Picnic for Prems event! Their foyer setup in the lead up to the event looked incredible too.
There was so much yummy picnic food prepared by centre chef Sukhi, it was hard to know where to begin eating! All of the centre children participated in an afternoon of fun, alongside their parents. It was lovely to see so many families come along to support the campaign. By gathering centre families, Clyde North hope to help harness their sense of community and support the vital services LTTF provides to families in hospital and when they transition home.
Picnic for Prems events happened at each of Aspire’s centres. Check out the pictures below and see if you can spot yours!
The most exciting part is the amount of money that the generous Aspire community has donated to the cause. As of publishing, the Aspire team has given $1,294 in donations!!! What an amazing amount that will impact many families nation-wide. Because of this generosity, many families will receive the support they need through their family journeys.
Thank you to everyone who joined the team at our picnics to raise awareness for premmies and sick babies, shedding light on the emotional, psychological, and financial toll it takes on families.
Donations are open until the end of May, so it is not too late to donate! If you are inclined, you can donate to the Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten page at the link here.
