Sun, Water and Nature - Aspire Donnybrook’s Summer Program!

During December and January, Aspire Early Education Donnybrook have introduced their Summer Learning Program. This program is a great way for children to engage in fun and educational activities that will keep them learning and growing all summer long.

Read on to learn about some of the fun summer activities the children have been participating in at Aspire Donnybrook.

Sensory play activities

The little learners at Donnybrook have had a blast exploring ice sensory activities as part of the exciting summer program. From feeling the cold texture to watching the ice melt, the children were fully engaged and learning through play. It’s amazing to see their curiosity and creativity come to life as they explore new sensations through this icy sensory activity.

Water Play

As the sun has been shining, the toddler children have also been engaging in fun water play activities! The little learners splashed, poured, and explored different objects in water tubs in the outdoor yard. Not only did they cool off, but they also practiced important skills like motor development, cause and effect, and sensory exploration.

Water play is the perfect way for babies to engage their senses, have fun, and beat the heat all at once.

Beach-themed fun

During this program, the children dove into a fun beach-themed activity, exploring everything from sandy textures to seashells and waves. They were so engaged, building their own little “beach scenes,” learning about sea creatures, and letting their imaginations run wild.

These activities allowed the children to explore their senses, learn new things, and spark their interest and curiosity in the beach environment.

Outdoor picnics

As part of Donnybrook’s regular excursion program, the children also enjoyed a teddy bear picnic at to the local park in Donnybrook. With supervision from the educators, the children walked on the footpath to the park where they set up picnic blankets with their favourite teddy bears. The children and staff also ate some delicious picnic food, as they enjoyed their time in the outdoors together.

It’s incredible to see the children so curious and eager to explore all things summer and engage in activities in an outdoor setting. Outdoor activities in early education offer a wide range of benefits, promoting physical health, cognitive development, and emotional well-being. They also encourage creativity, problem-solving, and focus while reducing stress and building self-esteem. Outdoor play also fosters teamwork and communication between peers, which helps improve children’s social development as well.
