Strengthening Early Years Education Through Collaboration

On Tuesday, 11 November 2025, our City of Casey centres had the opportunity to attend the Casey Best Start, Best Life Forum at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren. This event brought together leaders and educators from across the City of Casey’s early childhood services. Colleagues from long day care, community care and sessional kindergarten programs came to reflect, collaborate and share insights that shape the future of early years education.

Facilitated by Janine Voigt-Brown, Consultant Early Years and Community Futures, the forum featured valuable perspectives from Melanie Rantall, Head of Early Years and Partnerships – City of Casey, and Bronwyn Saffron, Manager of Child, Youth and Family – City of Casey. It was a meaningful event that highlighted our shared commitment to keeping children, families and community safe and at the heart of everything we do.

Best Start, Best Life

The Best Start, Best Life initiative focuses on building strong, connected early childhood environments where every child has the opportunity to thrive and grow. This message resonates deeply with us at Aspire. We believe that high-quality education and care grow stronger through genuine collaboration, both within our centres and across the wider sector.

Throughout the day, we explored important topics currently shaping early years services, including:

  • Staff knowledge and practices
  • Recruitment and retention challenges
  • Service model delivery and implementation
  • Physical learning space and facilities
  • Access and meaningful participation

It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on current challenges, share what is working well and learn from the experiences of others. Events like this strengthen our commitment to continuous improvement and help us provide the very best support for our children, families, and teams.

We left the forum feeling inspired and energised, with a renewed focus on creating warm, engaging and future-focused learning environments, because giving every child the best start in life is a responsibility we proudly share.
