Over the weekend, Aspire Early Education Riverwalk, Werribee hosted its Spring Family Fun Day. Despite the weather, it was a fun day full of great food and so many activities! Read on to see what fun everyone had.
The day started off with respect to the land on which the event took place. Indigenous community member Uncle Rob held a Welcome to Country and a Smoking Ceremony to welcome the guests to the land of the Bunurong and Wadawurrung Peoples. It was an extremely engaging time, with families participating in the Smoking Ceremony. Uncle Rob was amazing at explaining the ceremony and welcoming everyone to the event.
The food was a highlight of the whole day, there was so much on offer! Everyone LOVED the potato tornado food truck, serving out twisty taters by the dozen. It’s safe to say we went back for seconds!
The centre chef Ruby put on a spectacular spread as well. She served out an array of sandwiches, an incredible butter chicken and orange and poppyseed muffins. People were absolutely loving this sample of Aspire’s delicious menu.
Team members also took charge of a festive popcorn and fairy floss machine. The smell of the popcorn was delicious. The children particularly loved the fairy floss. Having these machines really added to the fun festival vibe of the event.
The activities on offer were so much fun for the whole family! There was something for everyone. The balloon animals made from a talented balloon twister was one of the highlights. Children were running everywhere with balloon hats, flowers, swords and a zoo of animals. We also had a fabulous face painter during the event. The artistry on display was second to none!
Easily one of the favourite parts of the event was the animal farm. Due to the weather, it had to be relocated indoors, but that didn’t lessen the fun everyone had! A range of small (and cute!) farm animals graced the centre, including ducks, piglets, a lamb and a baby goat. Little bunnies and chickens also ran about. There’s nothing quite like holding a soft chicken on a chilly September day!
Towards the end of the day, we had special guests from Paw Patrol make a special appearance! The children were delighted to meet their favourite dog heroes, Marshall and Chase
The Aspire Riverwalk team are so pleased that everyone had an absolutely amazing time at the Spring Family Fun Day!
