Each week, children in Rooms 6 and 7 take part in fun, energetic sessions with Sports Tots. It's a fantastic program that introduces little learners to the world of movement and sport. Through engaging games and age-appropriate activities, children develop a wide range of physical skills - like balance, coordination, strength and spatial awareness.
Physical development is a key area of early learning. Movement-based activities help children build the muscle strength and motor skills they need for everyday tasks - like walking, climbing, dressing or even holding a pencil. But it’s not just about muscles; physical play also supports healthy brain development. When children move, they’re developing pathways in the brain that help with focus, memory, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.
Gross motor play (running, jumping, climbing) and fine motor activities (grasping, throwing, kicking) lay the foundation for success in school and life. Regular physical activity also encourages resilience, social interaction, and teamwork. Children learn how to cooperate, take turns and build confidence as they try new challenges in a safe and supportive environment.
We’re proud to partner with Sport Tots, who specialise in childhood development through fun and interactive sports programs. Their passionate and experienced coaches know how to spark joy while teaching fundamental skills. Each session is carefully designed to suit early learners, ensuring all children can participate, feel included and enjoy their time moving and learning.
It’s been such a joy to watch the children in Room 6 and 7 become more confident, capable and coordinated each week. On the sporty days we see their excitement grow as they cheer each other on, try something new or master a tricky move. Their smiles say it all!
