School Holiday Program Fun at Aspire Cobblebank

There has been a lot of joy and excitement during the amazing summer holiday programs run at our Aspire centres this month. The children at Aspire Early Education Cobblebank have enjoyed a range of fun activities and dress up days during their program including snow machine fun, costume days, water play activities and pizza parties.

During the summer holiday program, the whole service participated in a fun pizza making experience. With supervision from the centre chef, the children created yummy pizzas with ingredients such as tomatoes, ham, cheese, pineapple and more. This activity encouraged children to learn about the ingredients, follow a recipe and try different foods. The pizzas were so delicious, and the children were wanting more!
The toddler children at Aspire Cobblebank enjoyed a winter wonderland experience during the school holiday program. The curious little children were keen on exploring snow using a snow machine, where bursts of white snow filled the outdoor yard! The experience was perfect with the weather as they learnt about the seasons and change in weather. This activity extended the children’s learning through questions and discussion with their educators.
As part of the program, the children also enjoyed a costume day where they dressed up in costumes as their favourite book, tv or movie characters! The kinder children were given a special opportunity to watch the educators act out the very hungry caterpillar story. The children's enthusiasm was elevated as the educators acted out the story and actively engaged with the children as they watched. Enhancing a passion for reading and acting skills, the children enjoyed the show which was extended with a butterfly art experience as initiated by the children.
The kinder children also had lots of fun engaging in water play activities! One of these activities included water play musical chairs, which involved a game of musical chairs in the outdoor yard while the educators sprayed the children with a water hose. Water play not only keeps the children feeling cool and having fun during the warmer weather but has so many amazing benefits for childhood development.
To end the week, the educators planned a pyjama party for the children. The educators and children came dressed in their cosy pyjamas and spent the day reading story books and singing along to rhymes. This activity focused on positive relationship building among peers, whilst sparking their imagination and expanding their listening skills and vocabulary.
