Recognising International Women’s Day at Aspire

International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8th every year and is a global event that honours the achievements, contributions, and progress of women across all sectors of society. It also serves as a day to raise awareness about the ongoing struggles for gender equality, women's rights, and social, political, and economic empowerment.
At Aspire Early Education, we recognise International Women’s Day in a way that truly reflects our values at Aspire. As an industry where women make up around 95% of the workforce, we recognise the importance of opening doors for women to advance into leadership positions, develop their skills, and ensure equitable opportunities across the company.
This year, our Aspire centres and head office teams created pledge cards to show our support for IWD Day. Thes pledge cards showed our solidarity and commitment to forging an inclusive world. We also had blank cards where individuals could write their own personal pledges that were meaningful to them. At Head Office, we displayed these cards on an IWD pledge wall in the kitchen. This served as great inspiration and a daily reminder of our support for IWD.
We also captured our incredible team—men and women alike—holding up their personal pledges for gender equality in a wonderful video. Check it out below!
Many of our Aspire centres also celebrated IWD by organising some delicious morning teas, afternoon teas and lunches. From delicious fruit to yummy donuts, cupcakes and sandwiches, our teams had the chance to enjoy some food on their breaks and mingle with fellow staff.
Some centres even organised beautiful gifts and hand written notes for their team members to show their gratitude. These IWD celebrations were an acknowledgement of the amazing work our team does everyday. It was great to see everyone’s happy faces and appreciation.
Take a look at some of the celebrations below across our Aspire centres!
At Head Office, they decided that instead of throwing a IWD morning tea or lunch, they would donate to “Give Women a Second Chance at an Education’’ via UN Women Australia. This program provides marginalized women who have missed out on education with opportunities to access learning and training, empowering them personally and economically. As an early education company, this program felt close to our hearts, and one that aligned closely to our values.
Real change happens when we empower women with opportunities. At Aspire, we believe that creating an equitable future starts with all of us.
We thank all our Aspire teams for their commitment to making a difference, not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.
