Meet Tarneit North’s new Centre Manager Ekta!

Aspire Tarneit North recently welcomed their new Centre Manager Ekta Bhullar. Ekta has enthusiastically settled into the centre, getting to know the staff and Aspire families. Ekta is very passionate about the early education industry, and we can’t wait to see her shine in this leadership position.

Learn more about Ekta, her career journey, passions and her life outside of work below.

1. How did you begin your career in Early Education and what has your career journey looked until joining Aspire Tarneit North?

I started my career as a Primary Teacher at overseas in 2006. After moving to Australia, I worked in retail for a couple of years. However, my heart always stayed connected to the Early Childhood sector and I decided to study further to gain my Australian qualification. I have been working in the Australian Early Childhood sector for the last 10 years. I started as an Assistant Educator and transitioned into a Centre Director within two years. Since then, I am enjoying every moment of my career and have loved my time at Aspire Tarneit so far.

I am extremely proud of being a part of an amazing team and lovely community of Tarneit.

2. What inspired you to go into this type of work?

I always knew that I belonged to Early Childhood. My children inspired me to continue my journey as a Leader. I am a people person and I love being around lovely people. I proudly guide my team to achieve their goals and ensure children reach their full potential.

3. What is your favourite thing about working with children and what are your learning philosophies?

My favourite thing is listening to children’s voices. I enjoy being a part of their first important five years of life and knowing I’m making a difference to their future.

In terms of learning philosophies, I am passionate about empowering my team to achieve their professional goals. I also believe in a program that extends principles and practices of Australia’s National Curriculum Early Years Learning Framework for Early Childhood Education.

4. What are some of your interests and hobbies outside of work?

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. I really enjoy cooking and listening to a soothing rain sound is my favourite thing.
