Meet Jayden from Aspire Berwick Waters!

Aspire Berwick Waters had a special student graduate from their Step into Prep four-year-old kinder program at the end of last year. Jayden had been at the centre since he was little, and even appeared on some of Aspire’s advertisements! His mother, Jehanna, is also a kindergarten teacher at Aspire Clyde North. We were lucky enough to chat with him and learn more about his experience at Aspire Berwick Waters.

Aspire: Hi Jayden, thank you for talking to us today! What is your favourite thing to do when you go to kinder?
Jayden: I like to play with blocks and make castles!
A: When you play with your friends, what games do you like to play?
J: I love RUNNING! I play tag with my friends.
A: Can you tell us about an especially fun trip or special visitor that has come to kinder?
J: I liked going to the schools. I loved playing on the playground and being with the big kids and read books in the library with my friends. I also liked going to look at the stars on the roof (The Planetarium at Scienceworks).
A: What’s the most exciting thing you’ve learnt at Aspire?
J: I learnt how to spell my name and how to read!
A: Who are your favourite teachers at kinder?
J: I like Keerthi and Janesha. They helped me learn. I will miss them at school.

A: What’s your favourite food to eat for lunch at kindy?
J: Chips and salad!
Jehanna (Jayden’s mum): [Laughing] Isn’t that what you had for dinner last night?
J: Yeah, but it was yummy!
We all had a giggle after that.
A: What’s something you know now that you didn’t know before?
J: I know about space now. I know all about the moon and planets and stars. I know that the sun is a star.
A: If your family could join you here at kinder for a day, what would you show them?
J: My toys and the new things that I learn. I would also play with my friends. My uncle and aunt are coming with me to my first day of big school!
