Literacy skills in early education are essential for children's overall development and future academic success. Aspire Bella Estate organises intentional learning experiences that foster the children’s literacy skills and better them for primary school.
Recently the Kinder children have been learning to identify and write their names. They learn the letters in their names and the order in which they spell them. During this activity, they also learn the best way to hold a pencil to help them write effectively.
In Bella Estate’s 3-year Kinder room, children have been exploring various activities to develop their pre writing skills. Some of these activities have included free scribbling, intentional scribbling, drawing through the dotted line, and more. Through these fun experiences, children are strengthening their fine motor skills thereby learning to control their hand movements and building their confidence in creative expression.
Learning numeracy in early education also lays the groundwork for a child's future mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills. Recently, the Kinder children learned about numbers and addition through a fun activity involving beads and tongs. By transferring beads into three different tubes, they practice counting each bead, enhancing number recognition and basic addition skills. This activity is a fun way to learn how to count, whilst also supporting fine motor development, hand-eye coordination and grip control.
Earlier this month, the Kinder children also engaged with our new number board which they created using recycled resources. As they explore and play, they are learning to recognise numbers and develop counting skills. This experience promotes numeracy while also teaching them the importance of reuse and recycle.
Activity from an early age is crucial for a child's development. It enhances and promotes the development of motor skills, bones and muscles, cognitive, social skills and more.
Recently the Kinder children channeled their energy into some yoga poses. They observed the rainy weather and decided to do their physical activity indoor.
The activity introduced the children to some common yoga poses and helped them develop their physical skills. It also helped the children regulate themselves and be more focused throughout the day.
At Aspire Bella Estate, they also offer many excursions for the Kinder children that give them the opportunity to explore their local environment. One of the regular excursions involve the children visiting and playing at the local playground. This promotes the children to be physically active in ways they wouldn’t in their classroom settings.
