Incursion Fun at Aspire White Hills

There’s been many fun incursions happening at Aspire Early Education White Hills during January! From farm animals and reptiles to drama performances and cooking, the children at Aspire White Hills have had heaps of fun engaging in these new activities that engage their hands-on learning.

Aspire White Hills was fortunate to have the amazing Farmer Darryl come visit the centre with his mobile animal farm. The children were very excited to be able to have an up close and personal encounter with some beautiful farm animals. They were able to touch cows and feed some pigs, as well as touch and feed baby lambs and goats.
The children walked away with new experiences, more knowledge of farm animals and of course, having had loads of fun! See some adorable photos of these animals below.
As part of the school holiday program, the children also had a visit from Wild Action. They run interactive workshops that offer a unique opportunity for children to engage with a variety of animal species, making it an ideal setting for learning about different animals. Children were able to touch and hold various animals and reptiles, including lizards, frogs, turtles, snakes and birds and bats.
This experience provided hands-on learning that fostered respect and wonder for the natural world.
Recently, Aspire White Hills also had the pleasure of having Little Moments Productions visit the centre and provide an incursion. Little Moments run themed adventures that tell a story through games, music and dancing. During this incursion, they delivered a dramatic story about Tiddalick the Frog, an Aboriginal Dreamtime story. The story was teaching the children about water conservation, and the importance of team work and not to be greedy.
The Hey Dee Ho music program is an educational music experience where children learn the concepts of beat, rhythm, tempo, pitch and dynamics in a play-based environment. Different educational themes are presented during each session using props, puppets, costumes and instruments to deliver a multi-sensory experience.
The children at White Hills love this incursion, and offers many benefits for their growth and development, including improved memory, language and social skills.
Incursion programs offer a range of benefits by providing dynamic, hands-on learning experiences that engage children and spark their curiosity. They expose young learners to new ideas, skills, and experiences, fostering creativity and broadening their understanding of the world. These programs support various learning styles, encourage social and emotional growth, and help children develop key skills such as empathy, cooperation, and self-regulation.
Furthermore, incursions strengthen Aspire’s community ties and connections with local businesses who provide these services. These programs also offer our educators valuable insights and strategies to enhance their practices as well. Overall, incursions enrich cognitive, emotional and social growth in young children.
