Fun Celebrations at Aspire Beveridge

Celebrating different events and awareness days is an important part of our Aspire curriculum and fosters a positive environment for everyone.

Aspire Early Education Beveridge celebrated a range of different events in July, that brought the centre together and provided different learning experiences for the children.

Teddy Bear Picnic

On Wednesday 10th of July, Aspire Beveridge held a Teddy Bear Picnic at their centre to celebrate Teddy Bear Picnic Day. It is a great opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled picnic outdoors. It’s also the perfect way to spark children’s imaginations while tapping into their playfulness and creativity.

Aspire Beveridge encouraged the children to bring their favourite teddy from home and invited families to join as well. A delicious morning tea was provided, that even included teddy-bear shaped biscuits. It was a great success, and everyone enjoyed the food and spending time with one another. Pyjama Day

National Pyjama Day is an initiative run by The Pyjama Foundation and is all about wearing your favourite pyjamas to work or school (and everywhere in-between!). This initiative helps raise funds and awareness for children in foster care.

During the week of July 15th -19th, Aspire Beveridge celebrated Pyjama Day by encouraging educators and children to wear their favourite Pj's. Both children and educators loved being cosy and warm in their Pj’s, while raising awareness for an important cause.

NAIDOC Week

At Aspire, we also aim to bring attention to days of importance such as NAIDOC Week. During this week we provide intentional learning opportunities for the children to ensure all sides of our history are taught and reflected upon. It is a valuable opportunity to introduce children to Indigenous cultures and promote respect and understanding.

Aspire Beveridge set up various activities for the children that built on their knowledge about Indigenous cultures.

They used a sand tray to create Aboriginal symbols, participated in painting and colouring activities of the Australian boomerang, completed Aboriginal puzzles and much more. These learning experiences provided the opportunity for our young children to learn about First Nations cultures, promoting respect and understanding. See some of the activities the children at Aspire Beveridge participated in below!
