From Educator to Aspire Ramlegh’s Centre Manager – meet Zoe!

Posted July 8th 2024

Zoe Anderson has been a dedicated and integral part of Aspire for six years, starting her journey as an Assistant Educator at Cranbourne West. Over the years, her leadership skills and commitment to excellence became increasingly evident, leading her to become Centre Manager at our new Aspire Early Education Ramlegh centre.

Learn more about Zoe’s career journey with Aspire, her passion for working with children and what she loves most about working at Aspire Ramlegh!

How did you begin your career in Early Education? What has your career journey looked until joining Aspire Ramlegh?

I began my career in Early Education at the age of 16, where I studied my certificate 3 in early childhood education. In 2018, at 19 years old I joined Aspire at their Cranbourne West Centre as an Assistant Educator before progressing to a Room Leader of the 3-year-old kinder room. Both my managers at the time Kylie and Thilini invested a lot of their time into training me further as I had expressed to them my interest in learning the business and management side of childcare. I truely believe that if it wasn’t for their encouragement, support and mentoring during my time at Cranbourne West then I wouldn’t have been able to see my true potential.

Upon finishing my time at Cranbourne West, I transferred to Aspire Pakenham in 2021 where I stepped into the Educational Leader Position, progressing to the Assistant Centre Manager before becoming the Centre Manager in 2023.

In February 2024 I got the keys to the brand new Aspire Ramlegh Centre and began my journey as a startup Centre Manager. My journey with Aspire has been incredible and one I am extremely grateful for. The opportunities they have provided me both professionally and personally have shaped who I am today and I'm excited to see what's next.

What inspired you to work in the Early education industry?

I always knew I wanted to make an impact and a lasting impression on the lives of our future children, especially through their education in the early years. It is something I am very passionate about and have found myself becoming more inspired and knowledgeable about since joining Aspire too.

What do you love most about working with children?

I love watching a child’s early learning journey. The fact that we care for and nurture them during such pivotal moments of those first five years from infants to kinders, is such a rewarding feeling. It’s incredible to know that the learning and skills that I am educating the children on during those early years will form their foundation for future learning.

What are some of your learning philosophies?

I very much align with Aspire's philosophies and values: to grow together, to learn together and to connect. I truely believe these philosophies and values play a strong role in creating a great centre, one where everybody feels welcomed and supported.

What have you liked about working as a Centre Manager at Aspire Ramlegh so far?

I have loved the excitement and challenges of setting up the centre from day one, a blank canvas. As a team we were able to make the centre feel homely, warm and inviting. It was an incredible experience being able to hire a brand-new team, welcoming new faces to Aspire and building strong bonds and growing those relationships. Meeting and supporting all of my lovely new families and their children has been a joy. It has been pretty special to top all this off by hitting 80% occupancy within only two months of opening. I am extremely proud of the centre and team I have at Ramlegh, and it has been a really enjoyable experience.

What are some of your interests and hobbies outside of work?

Outside of work I spend a lot of time with my partner, family and friends. I am a big traveller, and have travelled to Bali fourteen times. In 2023 I travelled solo around Europe for a month, and am looking forward to exploring more of this beautiful world with an upcoming USA trip. I love water sports and spend most of my summers up at Bonnie Doon at my family’s holiday house. I have been water skiing since I was four years old and love being outdoors!
