Exciting Dentist Visit at Aspire Tarneit Square

Aspire Tarneit Square had an exciting dentist visit from the team at Dentist 2 You. Dental and oral hygiene is essential to teach young children, with the centre implementing this incursion into the future. Learn more about this dentist visit and some tips to look after your child's teeth.

Tarneit Square’s Dentist Visit

On the 6th of November, Aspire Tarneit Square had Moby and Dr Irram attend the centre. The dentists completed both oral cleans and checks on the children. They counted their teeth, checked for cavities and gave them a thorough clean. The dentist's calm, professional and kind demeanour helped ease any children who were a bit apprehensive.

Over the course of the morning, 22 children had their teeth checked, what a great turnout!

Each child who visited the dentist received a new toothbrush to help them continue to care for their teeth at home. This will help them develop healthy habits and prevent tooth decay.

Overall the dentist visit at Aspire Tarneit Square was a massive success. The team looks forward to welcoming the team from Dentist 2 You back in another 6 months for their next dental visit incursion.

Why is Dental Hygiene so Important for Young Children?

Keeping your child’s teeth clean is of utmost importance as our teeth help us eat, talk and smile! Brushing and flossing teeth frequently prevents the build-up of plaque which can lead to cavities or gum disease.

Fostering a habit of brushing teeth twice a day with your children can ensure they have healthy teeth and gums throughout their childhood and beyond.

Keeping Children’s Teeth Clean.

Prior to your baby’s first tooth growing, it is important to keep their gums clean. You can do this by gently rubbing a damp, clean washcloth over their gums after being fed.

Once your child’s teeth have started growing, see KidsHealth’s recommendations for cleaning:

  • Children under 3 years old: Help your child brush twice a day for 2 minutes with a soft toothbrush with a smear (the size of a grain of rice) of fluoride toothpaste.
  • Children 3 years old and older: Help your child brush twice a day for 2 minutes with a pea-size amount of fluoride toothpaste. Then teach your child to spit the toothpaste out. When your child has teeth that touch, help them floss once a day.
