Early Learning Matters Week is an important week in the Aspire calendar. This week focuses on the significance of the early education industry. Because this week is so important, Aspire centres across Australia celebrated the week in a variety of ways.
Early Learning Matters Week, organised by Early Childhood Australia (ECA), raises awareness about the crucial role early learning plays in a child's development and wellbeing. This week serves as a platform to highlight how early childhood education lays the foundation for future success. It also underscores the importance of quality care and education during these formative years. Further, it’s an opportunity to bring together early childhood educators, parents, caregivers, and community leaders to celebrate and advocate for high-quality early learning. By fostering unity and collaboration, we can promote the wellbeing of both children and communities.
Aspire Manor Lakes was lucky enough to invite their Federal Representative Joanne Ryan MP to take part in their celebrations. Joanne was kind enough to talk to the children, as well as the educators, about what is important to them about early education. She also took part in some fun activities, like decorating a flag with everyone’s hand prints, to eating a yummy morning tea. She read a book to them too, centre favourite “Happiness Is…”. It was a wonderful celebration and a great reminder of the importance of early educators' voices being listened to by our MPs.
There was a lot on this week at Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten Pakenham! The centre opened their centre library with the help of Ivy from the Pakenham Library. This library is a place where families and community members can borrow and lend books to read at home, as well as swap in some of their own books. The centre also took part in many fun art activities, including painting with balloons, Indigenous handprint art and creating trees from fingerprints. Guests included incursion partners Denver from SketchRoo and Bec and Charli from Little Sports Heroes. We also had team members from our nearby sister centres, as well as Ben from the NDIS to share information with our community. We are also thankful to Emma Vulin MP who came to be a part of the morning! The team shared a card and flowers for all her support for our centre.
In conclusion, Early Learning Matters Week is a significant event for Aspire centres across Australia, as it highlights the essential role early education plays in shaping the future of our children. Through various celebrations and activities, our centres demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering a love for learning. As well as this, by building community connections, and advocating for quality early childhood education. We are grateful for the support from local leaders, families, and community members who joined us in celebrating this week. Together, we continue to champion the importance of early learning and its impact on the wellbeing of children and communities.
