Connecting with the Community at the Djerriwarrh Festival

On Saturday 11th of November, we attended the Djerriwarrh Festival, Melton City Council’s largest annual community festival. Each year it brings together thousands of people from all walks of life to enjoy different activities, local traditions and create amazing memories.

This year’s theme was ‘The Stories that Connect Us’, which promotes the idea of sharing and learning from each other.

Staff from our Deanside, Thornhill Park and Cobblebank centres, who are part of the Melton City Council, attended the festival and had an Aspire Marquee set up in the Community stall holder area.

At our marquee we provided a range of activities for the community to engage with including sensory activities, loose parts play, and storytelling. We also had our incursion partner Little Sports Heroes join us for some fun sporting activities which the children loved. See some photos of our set up at the marquee below!

It was a great day meeting so many families in the Melton community and showcasing some of the activities we have at our Aspire centres. We take pride in engaging with the local community and love meeting new faces.

If you want to learn more about some of these activities we offer in our Aspire curriculum, visit our curriculum page or contact us today.
