Aspire Early Education Ramlegh has only been operational for 6 months, but that hasn’t stopped the centre from forming many strong connections with the community. From connecting with primary schools to local small businesses, Aspire Ramlegh has forged many great relationships and worked hard to embed these connections within their program.
Read on to learn more about Aspire Ramlegh’s community partnerships and the importance of these connections.
Aspire Ramlegh has created a strong connection with Ramlegh Park Primary school, where many of the kinder children will attend. The management team toured the school, met the Principals and Teachers, participated in an Auslan class, and then this created a partnership for our Kinder children to attend fortnightly. Every fortnight on a Friday, the kinder children visit Ramlegh Park Primary for a reading and library session – where the children can borrow library books for the fortnight and return them when they next visit.
Excursions to the local primary school offer many benefits for the children, from developing their social skills, to cultural awareness, increasing physical activity and providing memorable experiences that foster a love of learning.
Aspire Ramlegh has also been focusing on sourcing local and small business owners for their community connections.
Kyle is a small business owner who runs a Coffee Van called Morning Ritual. Zoe was able to reach out to Kyle to develop a partnership where he would visit the centre on a weekly basis. The coffee van has been a huge hit with both families and staff and on the first day of the Morning Ritual, he sold over 120 coffees!
Kyle also participated in Ramlegh’s in-house events, and has supported Aspire’s other sister centres and their communities. The centre is very fortunate to have built this connection and offering something to their families, while supporting local business.
During a children’s committee, Ramlegh asked the Kinder children what they wanted to do for Early Learning Matters week celebrations. One of our Kinders asked for a truck and said that they wanted to drive one. From this, we sourced outwards to Hallam Truck Centre and Ando’s Detailing services, who supplied our children with a Kenworth Truck to explore through.
Our children spent the morning beeping the horn, exploring the cabin, and learning from Ando about why trucks are important part of our community and help keep Australia going.
Aspire Ramlegh also recently reached out to St. Peters College, where they teach Cert 3 in Early Childhood Education. The partnership is designed to ensure that students benefit from high-quality services and allows them to gain valuable experience during their placements and courses, so that they have a job opportunity upon completion.
St. Peters students had their first placement at Ramlegh not long ago, and the children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and have even asked when the students will be back. These visits provide great learning opportunities for the students, and the children, who get to interact with peers older than them.
Here at Aspire Ramlegh we have been lucky enough for ‘AMBER DAYS’ to collaborate with us and bring in some of their clothing pieces. What is Amber Days? Amber Days is a 100% Aboriginal female-owned and-led clothing label inspired by the Australian bush, desert, and sea. It uses ethically sourced premium organic fabrics to create these beautiful designs.
Corina, the founder and managing director of the brand, is passionate about breaking down the barriers.
This beautiful setup with links and QR codes to source these pieces are at the front of our Ramlegh centre. Again, this has been a great opportunity to connect with small businesses and promote their services to our families.
