At Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten Truganina, Victorian Education Week was a celebration of creativity, exploration, and growth. Each day offered a unique experience that brought our community together in the joy of learning. Read on to get a day-by-day look into how we celebrated the week!
Victorian Education Week is an annual celebration of public education in Victoria.
In 2025, Victoria celebrated Education Week from Monday 19th May to Friday 23rd May.
All children deserve a place to learn and thrive in. This year’s theme Celebration of Cultures highlights the diversity of our communities and the importance of every child feeling safe and welcome at school.
Throughout Education Week, students, parents/carers, teachers, and school communities are encouraged to celebrate and share ideas to promote the wide range of cultures and cultural connections in Victorian schools.
Our Victorian Education Week celebrations kicked off with vibrant, wacky hairdos during Crazy Hair Day! Children and educators alike proudly showed off their wild hairstyles, fostering self-expression, confidence, and communication skills. The energy was contagious as children embraced their individuality and celebrated the fun and silly side of learning.
On Day 2, the excitement soared even higher with a Giant Bubble and Kinder Circus incursion. This interactive adventure not only sparked wonder but also strengthened social skills, gross motor development, and turn-taking abilities as children played, laughed, and learned together. The little ones were especially entranced by the giant bubbles as they floated around the garden.
Wednesday was a riot of colour and imagination with Costume Day! Children came dressed as superheroes, dinosaurs, princesses, and everything in between. Their creativity lit up the centre, filling it with laughter and excitement. Educators joined in the fun, making it a truly magical day for everyone.
Thursday of Victorian Education Week invited children to explore their artistic talents through nature painting. Using natural materials and diverse media, children created unique works of art while deepening their appreciation for nature. Educators provided gentle guidance, inspiring creativity and encouraging every child to express themselves.
Education Week wrapped up on a cozy note with Pyjama Day. Children and educators alike wore their comfiest pyjamas, sharing stories and enjoying a relaxed day filled with comfort and connection. It was a perfect end to a week dedicated to growth, imagination, and community.
At Aspire Truganina, Education Week was more than themed days, it was about embracing each child’s journey, nurturing their individuality, and celebrating the wonder of learning together. Here’s to many more weeks of joy and discovery!
