Celebrating Aspire Thornhill Park’s Third Anniversary

Happy Birthday! Celebrating Aspire Thornhill Park’s Third Anniversary

January marked Aspire Thornhill Park’s Third year of operation. This much-loved centre has had a huge three years of educating countless little learners. Let’s walk down memory lane and look at some of our favourite events from the last three years.

Thornhill Park’s 3rd Anniversary Party

Aspire Thornhill Park was excited to celebrate its third anniversary recently! January marked three incredible years of growth, learning, and community engagement. They want to extend heartfelt thanks to all the families, the dedicated team, and the local community for being a part of this journey. Your support has been invaluable to the centre, who are grateful for the connections made along the way.

The centre was especially honoured to have Adeel Obaid, a local real estate agent from Area Specialist Real Estate, and his team join them for this special occasion. Aspire Thornhill Park is proud to have made such strong community connections over the last three years. “As we look forward to the future, we are committed to nurturing young minds and continuing to build a strong, vibrant community together,” stated Centre Manager Aruna Ladva. “Here’s to many more years of success and collaboration!”

Aspire Thornhill Park’s Little Long Walk

The community gathered in late 2024 for a Smoking Ceremony and Little Long Walk, reflecting on the land’s significance. Led by Craig from The Long Walk, participants explored First Nations history and traditions through engaging discussions and activities.

The event featured the reading of "Welcome to Country," highlighting the importance of native Australian animals in Dreaming stories, and concluded with a joyful Little Long Walk, where children proudly carried a handprint banner while celebrating their learnings. The Long Walk charity, inspired by Michael Long's advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights, hosts various events promoting Indigenous culture throughout the year.

At Aspire Thornhill Park, the incorporation of First Peoples’ voices and knowledge into education is vital, ensuring that children gain a deep understanding and appreciation of Australia’s cultural heritage.

Community Market Day 2023

The centre’s 2023 community event was a massive success! The Community Market showcased some of Melton’s best small businesses and services.

Stalls offered all sorts of goodies, from homemade biscuits and sweet treats, family photography sessions, custom cacti potting, and taekwondo demonstrations, as well as personalised drink bottles.

There was plenty to keep the family entertained as well. Aussie Wildlife Displays brought a bunch of cute Australian animals. The team taught guests about these creatures, allowing them to pet and even hold some of them! The talented Play With Passion Music provided the tunes as attendees milled around the stalls. Another fun addition was hair braiding, which was very popular with the children.

The event was a wonderful opportunity to support local business, and to come together as a community.

After three fantastic years of operation, Aspire Thornhill Park looks forward to an exciting 2025! Because of this, make sure you keep up-to-date will the centre’s events on their Facebook page here!
