Celebrating Aspire Deanside’s 1st Birthday!
Aspire Deanside’s 1st Birthday was celebrated in May! Much has happened in the last 12 months, so let’s take a trip down memory lane, and reminisce on the first year of this service.
The first big event that Aspire Deanside held was their community Open Day event! So many people came along, upcoming families, centre staff, community members and passers-by. It has been one of the most-attended Aspire open days to date!
Everyone had a great time exploring the centre, eating tasty food and having a chat to the friendly centre staff team. The team from Farmer Daryl’s Animal Farm were there to provide some cute and fluffy fun for young and old alike. The most exciting part of the day was a visit from special guests Emma Wiggle and Blippi! Dancing ensued as they sang some of their most popular songs. Everyone got a chance to snap a picture with the pair, as well as have a chat with them.
Other fun activities at the event were face painting, a family photobooth, sports activities with Little Sports Heroes and fun art and craft activities throughout the rooms.
We asked the team members at Aspire Deanside what their favourite memories at the centre have been, and why they love working there. Read on to hear from the dedicated Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten Deanside team.
My favourite memory at Aspire Deanside would be being part of the start-up team. Working with Kimmi, Naila and Hansi – who are still part of our team. We worked together to create beautiful learning spaces for our children. It’s a memory I cherish mostly because we were so excited to prepare the environment for all our families and children, I loved getting to know the team and families and children as they joined our Aspire Deanside community.
Although I haven’t been at Deanside for too long, I cherish many wonderful memories at Aspire. The first day meeting and greeting the friendly staff and welcoming families especially. Those initial interactions made a lasting impression on me as I have been at the centre. It is a thrill also to be able to celebrate Aspire Deanside’s 1st birthday during my time here.
I have been working at Deanside Aspire since its opening. I have lots of beautiful memories, but I want to share my best one. My most memorable memory was when I set up Deanside Aspire's rooms with age-appropriate resources before we opened. I have also enjoyed making connections with the children and their families during their orientation process. It is a proud moment for me when I see how these children are well settled in the kinder environment and how beautifully we made connections with our local community.
Mother’s Day 2024 was a memorable day for me at Aspire Deanside. It was my pleasure to work on that day and see so many happy faces, great smiles memorable moments and great bonds between mums and special people and their children.
My first day was very welcoming and warming. All the staff were friendly, and I have made great relationships with them after that. As well as that, I have really enjoyed getting to know the children at the centre. Working at Aspire has been a great opportunity.
