Aspire Thornhill Village’s Construction Update - July
With building underway, Aspire Thornhill Village’s construction is moving along smoothly. There isn't much left to go, so see how building at this upcoming centre is progressing in the blog below.
Internally, a coat of paint has just been painted on the walls and ceiling. It was great to smell the “recently-painted” smell of fresh paint. Only a few touch-ups are needed after this coat. The floor of wooden floorboards are laid throughout the centre too.
The rooms are essentially a blank canvas, ready for our educators to decorate them with educational toys, furniture, art, books, and so many other lovely things that bring brightness and personality into the space! The plumbing in the rooms is complete, as well as in the bathroom spaces. Even things like the rooms’ storage cupboards and lighting fixtures are done. Now it’s just the little things like cleaning the spaces up by sweeping the floor, taking out construction materials out of the rooms that needs to be finished.
Excitingly, as we were leaving the centre, a cement truck pulled up to pour concrete into the play spaces. The iron grate, as well as the borders of the slab, were all in place, ready for the cement. Check out the video below to watch the concrete pour.
The play spaces have been ready for a while now, but landscaping and planting native vegetation is underway. A lovely range of plants were out, ready to be planted. The final touches are being added to the outdoor areas, really pulling the space together. Once all of the plants are in their place, all that’s left to do is to place mulch over the top to help them thrive.
