Aspire Thornhill Village Open Day Wrap-Up

Aspire Thornhill Village Open Day Wrap-Up

We had a fantastic day on Saturday the 5th of October, celebrating the Aspire Thornhill Village Open Day event! Seeing the local community get together and explore this brand-new centre for the first time was wonderful. Check out the fun we had below!

Fun at the Thornhill Village Open Day

As always, we had a variety of fun activities for the family to enjoy at the Thornhill Village Open Day.

Children and adults alike had their faces painted beautifully by Rosa and her team of fabulous face painters! We had little superheroes, unicorns and Blueys alike running around the centre.

The team at Aussie Wildlife Displays brought their menagerie of Australian animals along to the open day. Some fan favourites included a little flying squirrel, Bruce the olive python, a blue-tongued lizard and, as always, Ellie the wombat. Check out the wild pictures below!

Little Sports Heroes also came along to join in the fun. They had some excellent prizes for the most accurate throwers at their target game. There were also some fun basketball-style games, as well as other sporty activities for the kids to enjoy.

Everyone loved the photobooth in room 4! Families and friends dressed up in silly costumes and took pictures with a variety of props. It was great to see so many people using the photobooth and creating memories for years to come.

Experiencing the Centre

The incredible spire chef team put on a massive spread for the open day! Guests were truly treated to a wonderful morning tea and lunch throughout the event. Served first, a colourful fruit platter was a healthy way to kick off the food offerings on the day. A selection of cheeses and crackers were also handed around, it’s hard for anything to match a cheeseboard! There was a delicious chicken pasta and vegetarian Indian rice pilaf on offer for lunch too. The rice dish in particular was very yummy!

Families took tours of the centre throughout the day, meeting the friendly centre director Dani and the other Thornhill Village team members.

An Electrifying time with Pikachu!

The most highly-anticipated part of the day was the visit from everyone’s favourite Pokémon, Pikachu, and their trainer. The Pokémon theme song rang out throughout the centre as Pikachu entered the party. The children (and the adults too) were SO excited to see a Pokémon in real life and many hugs were shared.

Some fun interactive games and dances were run by Pikachu and their trainer, including Baby Shark, The Ground is Lava and the classic Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes!

Then Pikachu headed into the centre to meet some more Pokémon inside. Pikachu ended up saying hello to Charmander (a melanistic blue tongue lizard) and posed for a few pictures. Pikachu and their trainer were so interested in the animal displays, maybe it reminded Pikachu of living inside their Pokéball!

The Aspire Thornhill Village Open Day was such a delight, and we were so excited to see the Thornhill Park community get around this upcoming centre.
