Interest-Driven Materials

The educators and room team members take notice of what their littlest learners are interested in. Understanding what excited the children to learn and play is key to ensuring a positive educational experience.

Recently, the children have shown an interest in playing outside in the gorgeous summer weather. Because of this, the team have implemented a few new games and activities to add to the children’s learning time. The little learners have had a great time playing in the fresh air and sunshine!

Educating at Their Own Pace

As babies love to touch and feel things, sensory books have been a huge winner at Aspire Deanside’s Nursery! By allowing the babies to feel the different textures throughout the book, they improve pre-literacy skills and cognitive skills. The educators will read though the books at the child’s pace, and allow them to touch each page and take in the colourful pictures too.

Another fun initiative Deanside’s Nursery has been able to implement is a buddy system with the pre-kinder children. To help grow connections between each other, the pre-kinder children play with and get to know the babies every Tuesday. This not only benefits the kinder children, but the babies as well. By having the older children be kind and gentle with the younger ones, it allows for lovely interactions and a building of trust and camaraderie.

Investing in Equipment At Aspire Deanside's Nursery

Aspire Deanside’s Nursery Hub (rooms 1-3) has recently purchased some new equipment to support our children’s interests in this significant stage of development. As they predominantly learn through their senses and increasing movement/mobility, the team has invested in some new materials.

The Climb and Crawl Activity Play Set the centre has just invested in will add some fun, additional play options. The large foam shape set can be set out in a variety of ways, allowing for endless possibilities. This will encourage children to learn, explore and take risks as they play inside and outside. Different shapes and bright colours help little ones boost their motor skills and cognitive abilities. The toy will challenge them as well as help them develop coordination and control of their bodies as they climb, crawl, slide, stack, create and have fun.

At Aspire Deanside's Nursery, a commitment to nurturing young learners is evident through our focus on personalised education and fun interactive experiences. Initiatives like sensory books and the buddy system promote learning and social interaction at the child's own pace, fostering pre-literacy skills and emotional connections. The investment in equipment such as the Climb and Crawl Activity Set demonstrates a dedication to providing diverse learning opportunities. Aspire Deanside's Nursery Hub creates a nurturing environment where young minds thrive and grow through tailored education and enriched experiences.
