Aspire Berwick Waters Cultural Community Event

On Saturday 16th November, Aspire Early Education Berwick Waters invited the community and their families to their Cultural Community Event! Although it was a hot and windy Melbourne day, it was still a wonderful morning celebrating a diverse range of cultures with live performances, music and delicious food.
Discover more about their wonderful Cultural event below!
The Cultural event began with a heartfelt Acknowledgment of Country delivered by one of Berwick Water’s 4-year-old kinder children, Rovayne, setting a meaningful tone for the day. The team were honored to have MP Gary Maas join and address the entire community as well.
After the welcome ceremony, the crowd witnessed some amazing cultural performances which showcased different cultures from around the world. These performances included a Chinese instrumental music and magic show, a traditional Sri Lankan dance by Shashila, and a colorful Indian Garba dance. There was also an African drumming performance where children and parents had the opportunity to test out their drumming skills!
It was so incredible to see our families and the community join in on some of these performances. They danced away together with big smiles on their faces. Everyone was also dressed up in their cultural costumes which made the event even more spectacular!
Adding to the festivities, a variety of food trucks offered delicious cuisines from around the world, making it a true feast for the senses. Unfortunately, with the windy and hot weather that day, a few of the food trucks were unable to attend. However, our families still enjoyed the Twista Bro’s food truck, Bubble tea truck and more! The Berwick Waters chef also made some yummy food which was displayed at the event too.
