Aspire Baldivis’ New Centre Manager – Stacy Cridland

Aspire Baldivis has just welcomed a brand-new Centre Manager, Stacy Cridland. With over a decade of ECEC experience under her belt, Stacy brings plenty of fresh ideas to the centre. We had a chance to talk to Stacy about her own early learning journey, what motivates and inspires her, and what she is looking forward to about being Baldivis’ new Centre Manager.

What has your early learning journey looked like so far, Stacy?

I began my journey in 2009, starting off as a Trainee Educator. From there, I continuously built my knowledge in the industry as an Educator Assistant, Lead Educator, Curriculum Leader, Assistant Manager, to now a Centre Manager.

What are your hopes as a new Centre Manager at Aspire?

Building a strong sense of belonging for the team, children, families, and the community by fostering high-quality service, delivering a positive and nurturing environment. As well as this, I hope to implement best practices for continuous improvement to ensure that the team, children, and families feel safe and supported from the moment they walk through the door.

Are there any learning philosophies that guide you as an educator?

I believe the Reggio Emilia philosophy has guided me as an educator. This is because I strongly believe each child is a capable and involved learner. In a child’s early life, it is fundamental that children learn at their own pace. As an educator, it’s vital to support the children through open and collaborative partnerships with families. This creates goals and implements open-ended experiences that allow the children to be curious and use their imaginations through play. Because of this, it assists them to be independent, resilient citizens who are in control of their own learning in a warm, safe, nurturing environment.

What do you like to do in your spare time, Stacy?

Spending time with close friends and family, especially adventuring through the wilderness, camping and tracking through trails to look at waterfalls.

What is your favourite thing about being a Centre Director?

My passion lies in working closely with the team by role modelling best practices and engaging in reflective conversations. I do this to create an environment where the team, children, families, and the wider community feel respected and valued. I love watching children grow from infants into smart, independent, caring and kind young children. Seeing and celebrating significant milestones throughout their time with us in an early learning environment is very rewarding. As well as that, I value and enjoy building enriched relationships with my families and the community.

What motivates you to achieve greatness in your ECEC journey?

My biggest motivator within my journey is the desire to support and create meaningful relationships with families and children. I strive to provide a high level of care and see the progress and growth of my educators as they continue to grow professionally. I love to work alongside them in their journey and to support them in shaping the children’s future for success. The desire to create a positive impact for the children and their families from the moment they walk through the doors motivates me every day.

We are thrilled to have Stacy join the Aspire Baldivis team. If you are looking for high-quality education and care in Western Australia, take a tour at Aspire Baldivis.
