Aspire Atherstone’s Winter School Holiday Fun!
During the July school holidays, Aspire Early Education Atherstone, ran a Winter School Holiday program that included fun experiences and activities for all the children at the centre.
Their school holiday program included a variety of activities and incursions that not only promotes continued learning and development but also encourages the exploration of new concepts and skills for children.
Some of the activities included face painting, cooking, puppet shows, sensory play days, dress up days, as well as an Animal farm incursion.

During Atherstone’s school holiday program they had a face painting day, where the children were able to get their face painted. See some pictures below of the masterpieces!
They were also fortunate to have Denver visit our Atherstone centre to provide creative art incursions. SketchRoo incursions helps children express their creative side, by creating different drawings and artwork using crayons, paint and other resources. This program supports children in their social and emotional regulation through art.
During the week, Atherstone also had the pleasure of having a mobile farm visit the centre for the children. The children got to pat and feed some adorable goats, guinea pigs, ducks and chickens!
They enjoyed learning about the different animals and their feeding habits, as well as taking turns to care for them and brush them as they would at the farm. Farm incursions provide a variety of learning opportunities for the children.
A special winter wonderland was also created at Atherstone for the kinder children. During this experience, they had the opportunity of creating snow using a snow machine. The children were so excited to play and enjoy this snowfall, and so were the educators too! We discussed how snow was made and explained that the snow we had created was not real but made up to look like snow.
Experiences such as these create great learning opportunities for children through curiosity an imagination.
Our school holiday programs are intentionally designed with age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, physical, and social development. Children have the opportunity to interact with peers, making new friends and improving their social skills. At Atherstone, we run a holiday program during every Term school holidays.
