Aspire Armstrong Creek - Partnering with the Community

Connecting with the community is one of Aspire’s core value, with community at the heart of everything we do. Although it has only been open a few months, Aspire Ashbury Armstrong Creek has already formed some strong connections with their local sport clubs, library and businesses.

Excursions to Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library

Aspire Armstrong Creek’s Centre Manager and Head of Curriculum recently visited the Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library to explore some exciting opportunities of running excursions for the children.

Their visit focused on attending story time sessions and borrowing from the Seed Library to help support their sustainability garden. The Seed Library is a fantastic initiative where you can borrow up to 3 seed packets to plant and grow. Once your plants have matured, the idea is to donate seeds back to the library to help others in the community.

The team are encouraging their families to join in and borrow seeds for their sustainability yard.

While at the library, they also discussed the many wonderful programs available for families and individuals. Some of these programs will soon be displayed on their Community Connections board in the foyer, making it easy for families to access valuable local resources. These library excursions are a great way for children to get out in the community, while fostering a love for learning and reading.

Local Woolworths Visit

The team are always looking for new ways to enhance the children's learning experiences, which is why they also reached out to the local Woolworths.

They spoke with the Woolworths manager about organising ongoing excursions for the children, which would help enrich their development and supplement their learning of food and nutrition in the classroom.

Learning about healthy eating and nutrition is a major part of Aspire’s curriculum, where we aim to nurture a healthy relationship with food from a young age. Having a partnership with the local Woolworths is a great way for the children to gain a hands-on experience of picking their own food and promoting mindful eating.

Connecting with TLC Aged Care

Recently the team also visited TLC Aged Care at Warralilly Gardens to forge a meaningful community connection with the residents there. During their visit, they discussed exciting opportunities for the residents to visit our Aspire centre for morning/afternoon teas, engaging story times, and interactive activities.

They are very keen to also arrange visits for the children to their beautiful facilities, fostering enriching intergenerational relationships and learning experiences.

Intergenerational connections offer numerous benefits for seniors and children including improved physical and mental health and social connection. Aspire Armstrong Creek are excited to build this partnership and foster these meaningful bonds.

Sporting Club Sponsorship

The Aspire team are also thrilled to announce their new partnership with Armstrong Creek Sharks Football Netball Club. For this coming season, Aspire Armstrong Creek will be a sponsor of the local sporting club. Supporting local sports clubs and community services is a core part of Aspire’s values, and the team are excited to work together and become more involved within the community. You may hear some loud roars as they cheer them on throughout the season. Go Sharks!!

Aspire Armstrong Creek are keen to develop their community connections and enrich the educational experiences of the children in care.
