Ashbury - Armstrong Creek – May Construction Updates
Aspire Ashbury - Armstrong Creek has seen plenty of construction over the past few months. The upcoming centre is being built in the brand-new The Square Ashbury, Armstrong Creek Shopping Centre. Read on to see how this centre south of Geelong is transforming, ready to welcome families in.
The construction team is excited that the internal skeleton of the centre is built. The bones of each room are in place, forming a great base for another Aspire centre. Across the way, the internal structure of the adjoining shops and services buildings have also been put up.
As well as the overall building structure, windows have been positioned into place. These go in quite early into the build, which may seem a bit strange, but it can help with weather proofing the building as the walls are sealed. Installing windows early fits into the overall construction workflow. It allows for other interior finishing work (like drywall, electrical, and plumbing) to proceed without the risk of weather-related interruptions.
The team has started bricking up the exterior of the building too. Using the classic white Aspire brickwork, the façade will have design elements similar to our other centres, but a unique overall design. This is expected to be finished by the end of May.
