A Winter Wonderland at the Aspire Smiths Lane Open Day!
Aspire Smiths Lane came alive with colour, laughter, and community spirit at our Open Day celebration!
Last month Aspire Smiths Lane welcomed families in the Clyde North area to join them for a morning of interactive games, creative crafts and friendly faces! Families explored our new Aspire Centre, discovered what makes our centre unique, and shared in the excitement of what’s to come. Thank you to everyone who joined us - it was a day to remember!

We are so pleased that Joachim and Naomi from Little Boomers Basketball - Cranbourne could join us at our event! Families and children were introduced to the exciting basketball programs Little Boomers has to offer and got to try their hand at shooting some hoops. It was a joy to see so many smiling faces as kids dribbled, passed, and scored their first baskets. The energy was electric, and the encouragement from Joachim and Naomi made everyone feel like a champion. A huge thank you to Little Boomers for bringing the game to life and inspiring the next generation of ballers. We can’t wait to see some of these young stars on the court again soon!
One of the highlights of our Smiths Lane Open Day was the incredible Bricks 4 Kidz experience, which brought warmth and creativity to a chilly winter morning! Kids gathered around to build imaginative LEGO creations, diving into hands-on activities that sparked curiosity and problem-solving. The cosy indoor setup was perfect for fostering fun and friendship, with little builders fully immersed in educational play that made learning feel like an adventure. It was a joyful reminder that even in winter, creativity knows no season!
Guests of all ages were treated to a delightful mix of activities that brought warmth to a crisp winter’s day! Families snapped cheerful photos at themed photo spots, kids lit up with colourful face painting, and creativity flowed freely at the craft tables. The excitement peaked when surprise guests made magical appearances, sparking wide-eyed wonder and unforgettable moments for the little ones.
Thanks to our two incredible face painters, kids were transformed into magical creatures, superheroes, and adorable animals. Rosa and the team at Rosa's Dazzing Faces are truly experts at their craft, creating genuine works of art on the face of every person that sat in front of them. From butterflies to princesses, the imagination was endless!
Our friends at Allwright Entertainment brought the photo fun with a pop-up photo booth full of props and playful energy. Kids beamed with joy as photo strips printed out, capturing memories of silly faces and laughter with their friends and siblings.
We were delighted to welcome Vince and the incredible team from Aussie Wildlife Displays, who brought along a captivating and hands-on wildlife experience for families to enjoy! Their interactive setup gave children and adults alike the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most iconic creatures.
From feeding and patting a gentle wombat to holding giant snakes and cuddling adorable flying possums, the display was a true highlight of the day. The team’s knowledge and care made every interaction safe, educational, and unforgettable - sparking curiosity and wonder in every corner of the event.

We were absolutely delighted to welcome XLENT Events to the Smiths Lane Open Day, bringing with them two very special guests - Elsa and Olaf! Their surprise visit lit up the event with winter magic, enchanting children and parents alike. From whimsical balloon creations to playful games in the crisp air, Elsa and Olaf created a truly magical atmosphere that warmed hearts despite the chill. Seeing families light up with joy as they met their favourite Frozen characters was a highlight of the day. A huge thank you to Elsa and Olaf for turning a wonderful event into an unforgettable winter wonderland!
