A Q&A With Pree, Aspire Manor Lakes’ New Centre Manager!

Aspire Early Education is thrilled to announce Pree Sandhu as Aspire Manor Lakes’ new Centre Manager! With many years of experience in the sector, Pree brings a wealth of knowledge and ideas to the centre. We were lucky enough to have a chat with her about her early education career, teaching philosophies, and coffee!
My early learning journey included a lot of hands-on experiences, like working directly with children and observing their interactions. I've learned the importance of flexibility in teaching, and adapting to each child's unique needs and interests. Additionally, I’ve focused on building strong relationships with families to create a supportive community. It's been a continuous process of growth and learning and I look forward to this ongoing early education journey.
What first led me to the early education industry was my desire to be more present in my daughter's life. As a chef, I found it challenging to spend quality time with her, so I decided to pursue early childhood education. This journey has shown me that we aren’t just teaching; we’re also learning alongside the children. Observing their growth and curiosity has encouraged me to keep going and deepen my commitment to this field. It’s been a rewarding experience!
One of my favourite things about being a Centre Director is the opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives every day. I love seeing their growth and development, and it's incredibly rewarding to create an environment where they feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. Building strong relationships with families and the community also adds a meaningful dimension to the role, as we work together to support each child's unique journey.
I emphasise the importance of a holistic approach, which considers the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of each child. This means creating a nurturing environment that supports all aspects of a child's growth. I believe in fostering independence by allowing children to make choices and learn from their experiences. Additionally, incorporating family involvement is crucial, as it strengthens the connection between home and the childcare learning environment.
In my spare time, I like to go for long drives and spend time with friends over coffee, as I'm a bit of a coffee snob!
As Aspire Manor Lakes’ new Centre Manager, my hopes are to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where both children and staff feel supported and valued, making it a true home away from home. I want to build strong relationships with families and encourage open communication.
