A Polynesian Journey at Aspire Cranbourne East

At Cranbourne East, inclusion isn’t just a value, it’s part of everything we do. Last week, we were excited to host the Polynesian Infusion incursion, inspired by some of our incredible Polynesian educators. It was a special morning that took the children on a cultural journey to the Pacific Islands, with music, dance and storytelling.
The event kicked off with a fantastic traditional dance performance, where the children were immersed in the rhythm of drums, ukuleles and chanting. But it didn’t stop there, they were all part of the experience, joining in a Hula lesson as well.
Having this event with our Polynesian educators made it feel even more personal and meaningful for all of us. It was a great way for the children to connect with and appreciate a new culture in such an interactive way. A huge thank you to Cultural infusion and our educators for making it all come to life!
Introducing children to different cultures during their early years is essential for fostering understanding and respect. It helps them appreciate diversity, develop empathy, and build a positive sense of identity. Early exposure to various cultures, traditions and languages broadens children’s horizons, encouraging curiosity and open-mindedness that stay with them throughout life. Celebrating cultural diversity in early childhood settings creates a welcoming environment where every child feels valued and connected.
By bringing events like this to our centre, everyone can learn, connect and celebrate the beauty of diversity. To all families of Cranbourne East, don’t hesitate to tell us if you’d like to bring your culture and traditions to the centre by hosting an incursion or sharing your unique experiences with the children. We believe these experiences are enriching and we look forward to more cultural celebrations at Cranbourne East!
