Nursery Learning Experiences at Aspire Pakenham

Our Aspire Baby Steps Nursery Program offers children daily activities and targeted teaching opportunities to help them achieve developmental milestones. Through our play-based learning approach, children engage in sensory play that stimulates their senses of touch, smell, taste, hearing, and sight.
Aspire Early Education Pakenham’s Nursery Program features tailored learning experiences specifically designed for nursery-aged children. Pakenham’s Nursery hubs are thoughtfully designed to provide a warm and welcoming environment for your baby to embark on their learning journey, fostering emotional and social development during this important phase.

Sensory play in nursery settings offers a range of benefits that are crucial for young children's development. It fosters cognitive growth by encouraging exploration and problem-solving, while also enhancing fine motor skills through various activities.

Our Bluebells nursery children recently had a fantastic time exploring their sensory skills with a fun Pom Pom Drop activity! They used different coloured pom pom's and dropped them in plastic cups attached to the wall (acting as Basketball hoops).
This playful exercise helped them enhance their hand-eye coordination while boosting concentration.
The nursery children also love diving into sensory play with one of their favourite activities using water and aluminum foil. They love the crunchy and squishy textures and sounds that the foil creates, which really stimulates their senses.
Our Bluebells children recently had a wonderful time exploring textured painting. They were given crushed paper along with paint, allowing them to feel the unique textures of both materials. This engaging activity took their sensory skills to the next level of development, offering a fun and creative hands-on experience!
The nursery children have also been captivated by straw painting. Each breath creates unique patterns and textures, sparking a sense of discovery and excitement. The children are encouraged to observe how the colours blend and interact, making this a fun and engaging way to explore creativity.
The Gumnuts nursery children explored the world of creativity with feather painting. This sensory-rich activity allowed them to experience different textures compared to traditional brushes, sparking curiosity through tactile sensations. As they painted, they also discovered the beauty of colour mixing, making it a fun and educational experience all around.
All of these fun art activities increase creativity and exploration from a young age, which helps the children’s development as they grow older.
From a young age, the nursery children participate in different experiences that also help improve their letter, colour and number recognition, in a way that is engaging and appropriate for their age.
Recently the Gumnuts children had a great time with a matching colours activity. Using tongs to pick up and match colours, they not only improved their concentration but also worked on developing their fine motor skills. This fun and focused task helped boost attention to detail and hand-eye coordination, making learning even more exciting!
