Grow and Thrive in Aspire Tarneit North’s Learning Spaces

Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten Tarneit North offers unique learning experiences throughout their classrooms. Our Aspire curriculum is built on play-based learning, featuring educational spaces designed to ignite children's curiosity. Tarneit North’s educators set up different learning areas that are built around the developmental needs and interests of each age group.
Discover the innovative learning spaces throughout Tarneit North’s centre below.
Within the Opal Room the Toddler children have been exploring the use of natural materials when engaging in play. The educators have set up an amazing activity that allows children to explore their senses and build on their fine motor skills.
In the Jasper Toddler Room, the children have been learning about emotion regulation. This is a crucial aspect of their development, as understanding how to regulate emotions helps them manage their emotional responses and develop effective coping strategies.
In Tarneit North’s 3-year-old Onyx Room the children have shown a strong interest with dinosaurs. The educators have extended on their children’s interests and created a hands-on learning space where they are able to interact and learn about the different types of dinosaurs and their natural habitats.
Within the Onyx Room the children have also been learning about Indigenous culture. They have been focusing on the symbols of the Indigenous language and their use in storytelling. The children have been given hands-on experiences to help them learn about Indigenous symbols, along with sensory activities. As NAIDOC Week approaches, our educators are eager to set up more Indigenous learning experiences for the children.
In our 4-year-old Emerald Room, the children of Tarneit North have been expanding their knowledge about fire safety. Through intentional teaching, they explored the centre to locate the various fire alarms within our service. Additionally, the children extended this learning by identifying smoke alarms in their own homes.
The Emerald Room educators also recently created an amazing learning opportunity for the children with an Emerald Restaurant! This experience allowed the children to engage in role-playing and mimic what they have learnt within their environment and different conversations. During this activity they took table orders, prepared food and had conversions with one another at the table.
In the Jade Room (Tarneit’s mixed 3 and 4-year-old Kinder room), the children have been learning about the plant life cycle. The Jade Room has focused on providing children with knowledge about the stages of the plant life cycle and the differences between flowering and non-flowering plants. They have implemented a hands-on sensory experience, allowing the children to learn through play about the plant life cycle and what plants need to grow.
