Posted May 25th 2026

We are excited to introduce Sharlen Wojcicki, the new Centre Manager at Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten Baldivis in Western Australia. We're so excited to have her onboard with her wealth of expertise and passion for the Early Education industry.

Get to know more about Sharlene and why she loves working in early education below.

Sharlene's career journey

In 2022, Sharlene decided to change careers after discovering a passion for Early Childhood Education and Care while placing her own children in care. Through this experience, she developed a strong passion for supporting children not only in their learning and development, but also through building meaningful relationships with families. She was drawn to a career where she could make a genuine difference in children’s lives by helping them feel safe, supported, valued, and confident as they grow.

As she began working as an Educator, Sharlene quickly realised how meaningful the work was to her. Supporting children as they learned new skills, built confidence, and developed a sense of security reinforced the impact that caring and supportive educators can have during a child’s early years. Over time, she has worked across various roles within the sector. Each one has strengthened both her professional skills and her understanding of children’s needs. While continuing to grow her passion for creating nurturing environments where every child feels a sense of belonging.

What Sharlene loves most about the industry is being part of children’s everyday moments. Comforting them when they are unsure, celebrating their achievements, and supporting families through important stages of their child’s development.

Sharlene says, "Knowing that I can have a positive impact on a child’s early years is what continues to inspire and motivate me every day."

What Drew Her to Aspire

Sharlene was drawn to Aspire because of the organisation’s strong standards and commitment to putting children first. She admires Aspire’s focus on creating safe, nurturing, and engaging environments where every child is supported throughout their learning journey.

She was also inspired by Aspire’s focus on meaningful experiences and community-based learning opportunities for children. Alongside this, the strong team culture and support across each service stood out to her. Sharlene values working within an organisation where educators feel encouraged, supported, and valued. She believes this creates positive outcomes for both children and families while also allowing educators to continue growing professionally.

What resonates most with Sharlene is Aspire’s strong focus on high-quality education and care through genuine connections, meaningful learning, and opportunities for growth. She strongly aligns with the belief that children and families should always come first, and that nurturing environments have a lasting impact on children, families, and the wider community.

Aspire’s philosophy of Connect, Learn and Grow, reflects the type of Centre Manager Sharlene strives to be. Compassionate, supportive, professional, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

Her approach to leadership and team relationships

Sharlene’s approach to leadership is centred around support, collaboration, and leading by example. Having worked as an educator herself, she understands the daily responsibilities, challenges, and rewards that come with working in early childhood. This allows her to support her team with patience, encouragement, and a strong understanding of the role.

She believes in mentoring and guiding educators by creating a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and encouraged to grow professionally.  She aims to lead with open communication, patience, and understanding, ensuring educators feel confident in their practices and supported in their individual strengths and development areas.

Building positive relationships within the team is also highly important to her. Sharlene believes strong teamwork creates a positive culture that flows through to the experiences provided for children and families. She values collaboration, listening to others, and working together to maintain high standards of care and education. She strives to create an environment where educators feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and supporting one another to build a strong, motivated, and connected team.

Passion for Early Education

Sharlene’s passion for Early Childhood Education and Care comes from her belief that children should always come first. She values creating environments where high standards are embedded into everyday practice, ensuring families feel confident that their children are safe, respected, valued, and genuinely cared for.

As a parent with children in early education herself, she understands the importance of knowing children are in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. She recognises the trust families place in educators each day and believes every child deserves to feel a sense of belonging, comfort, and security while being supported to learn, grow, and thrive through meaningful experiences and positive relationships.

She is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development by creating engaging environments where children feel encouraged to explore, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Sharlene also values supporting and working alongside educators, believing that strong teamwork and collaboration create positive outcomes for both children and families. She believes that when educators feel supported and motivated, it is reflected in the quality of care and learning experiences provided to children.

Her personal experiences have further strengthened her passion for building strong relationships with families and creating supportive connections where parents feel heard and valued. As well as reassured that their child’s wellbeing, learning, and development are always the priority.

Outside of work

Outside of work, Sharlene is a mum of four children and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. From visiting the beach, going to the park, or creating little adventures together. She also enjoys listening to music to relax and unwind and loves expressing her creativity through DIY projects. She finds being creative a highly rewarding outlet.
