Aspire Atherstone’s New Centre Manager, Teena!

Teena Beri has recently started as the Centre Manager at Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten Atherstone. We had the chance to chat with her, and get to learn about her early education journey, what drives her, and so much more!
Teena always had a passion for working with children and seeing children learn, flourish, and become more confident in themselves. She found that early childhood is an enriching career path to support children in their early years.
Teena’s journey in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector began as an educator in 2008. Since then, she has worked in various roles in this industry from lead educator, educational leader, assistant director and made her way to the role of Centre Director in 2021. Throughout her career journey, she has learnt many things to help support and grow her talent as a Centre Manager.
The learning philosophy that guides Teena as an educator is inspired by Reggio Emilia. It focuses on the child as a capable learner, emphasises exploration, inquiry, and documentation of children’s learning. It also recognises the importance of play as a primary means of learning and development.
The biggest inspiration throughout my ECEC career is the joy of witnessing children grow and learn. Also, the impact educators have on their early development continues to drive met.
“My favourite thing about being a Centre Director is the ability to positively impact children’s lives by fostering their development and creating a safe, supportive learning environment,” reveals Teena. “Building strong, trustful, and respectful relationships with families and the community, along with witnessing children’s growth, is why I love what I do.”
When Teena isn’t busy enriching children’s lives, she likes to spend time with her own family. She also loves listening to music and cooking her favourite dishes, often at the same time!
“Aspire’s philosophy and vision have inspired me, as it connects with my philosophy to connect with people and help children to learn and grow.” Explains Teena, “I am very excited to introduce myself to the Atherstone community and bring high standards of professional learning and care for the children.”
“I am looking forward to meeting the families and learning about their culture, beliefs, and values.”
The entire Aspire Atherstone community is thrilled to welcome Teena into our team! Please introduce yourselves to her when you visit the centre, she’d love to say hi.
